Sweet Memories

Today I was thinking about how precious children are and the funny things that they say sometimes that make us smile and warm our hearts!! These memories stay in our minds always!

I remembered a couple of things my youngest daughter Natalie had said to me-one when she was 3. We had gone out to eat at a restaurant and we had asked her what did she want to eat. To which she relied "grilled cheese sandwiches and flowers." At first we could not understand what she meant? Then we realised that she meant the parsley garnish with the sandwich!!! A childs perception is so wonderful!!The memory of this makes me smile even now and warms my heart when I remember this! Of course I also tease her about this sometimes!! Another really sweet memory that I remember is when she was 5 and she sang with the "Melody Makers" the children's choir group at church. The Pastor of the church invited everyone up to the altar if they wanted to pray or had a prayer request. Natalie zoomed up to the altar to pray! On the way home she announced that she had prayed for new front teeth  as her baby teeth had come out and then  she could sing with the "Melody Makers once again" Tears filled my eyes! This little action blessed my heart then and still does today!! So precious! This then young child is now grown and expecting a baby of her own.

A couple of quotes that really fit what was on my mind today:

"When you have brought up children, there are memories you store directly in your tear ducts."
                                        Robert Browit

"Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children."
                                        Charles Swindoll

And another favourite bible verse of mine:

"Train up a child in the way he should go:and when he is old he will not depart from it."
                                         Proverbs 22:6

I would like to include a photo of my grandaughter Kaylie and a photo of Natalie my daughter and her partner James.
