On my mind today storms.
We have all encountered these moments and that dark and lonely place. Some of us call it the valley or the desert or a dark night. I have been thinking about how we go through these storms and how frightening this place can be and seemingly never ending.
When we are going through these storms and the wind is howling and our foundations are shaking. When the tide is treacherous and dangerous we can rest in the arms of the Lord and know that we are protected.Yes as we go through these times we can know for sure that we are protected and this is a comforting thought. He is always with us. He has promised.
As I go through these difficult and painful times I am reminded of the Lord's promise:
"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have; for He hath said,I will never leave thee or forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5
God's promises are true and we can depend on Him. It is here I am reminded of:
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16
So when your storms rage and you are in that dark place ask Him to calm those raging seas and to be your peacemaker.
And I am sharing a photo of my daughter Natalie and her partner James:
And Natalie and me
My daughter Laura
My daughter and my niece Amanda
James and one of my grandaughters and a friend Eric
My sister Teresa and her husband Phil
My granddaughter
And a reminder of God's promise
Lovely family!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how God gets us through difficult seasons -- even when we don't see "how" He is doing it.
Reading His Word definitely encourages our hearts.
Bless you today!
Beth

ReplyDeleteI think sometimes we go through these storms...or "seasons" as I sometimes call them...and only after they have passed do we really see that God was with us the whole time...even during those times we may have felt He wasn't....
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
