Thanksgiving

To give praise to the Lord is one of the best ways to express our thanks to God for all His blessings.
We thank God for our food before we eat,we thank him for a place to live,we thank Him for family and friends.

At Thanksgiving we list our blessings and we reflect on what God has done for us.But do we continually Praise God each and every day, many times a day for our blessings? We should adopt stopping each day several times a day to Praise Him.

In everything give thanks:for this is the will of Christ Jesus concerning you. 1Thessaslonians 5:18

P- Praise God because He is powerful.
R -Praise God because of His Righteousness.
A -Praise God because He is able.
I- Praise God because He is infinite.
S- Praise God  because of His strength.
E- Praise God because He is everlasting.

PRAISE!!!

I would like to encourage you to find things every day of the year to be thankful for. I have, inspired by a friend, started a "Grateful Journal" which I blog on Fridays here.God gives us multiple blessings every day. Sometimes during the valley and difficult painful times we fail to see God's hand of blessing. We tend to focus on the negative aspects and we let these pull us down. God always gives us blessings but we do not always see them.

By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is,the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. Hebrews 13:15

How easy is it to thank God when an unexpected bonus comes in  or promotion at work? Or for when our prayers get answered in the way we want? But what about the times when prayers are not answered how we want? Do you continue to thank Him? A thankful heart is a grateful heart.

In England we do not celebrate Thanksgiving but I have always had the opportunity to join in at Thanksgiving as I have family and friends in the USA. I like my sister's idea on Thanksgiving when she goes round the room and asks each of us to say what we are grateful for-to share the Lord's blessings.
Three years ago on Thanksgiving Day in the doctors office at the hospital I was given the news of my biopsy results. These were taken after having major GYN surgery and blood tests and a scan had suggested that the results might not be benign. I will never forget that day and the news that my results were normal. I thanked God in her office and I thank Him every day for His deliverance.

Thankfulness is soul transforming so develop a Spirit of thankfulness as one of your life goals. Join me each Friday as I post my Gratitude journal.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits even the God of our Salvation.Selah.
Psalm 68:19

  1. Many sought to console me yesterday because I was spending the day alone. I needed no consolation; I had Jesus with me and we had quite a nice day together. I am so thankful He is ever with me, under any circumstance! I journal almost every day as I do my devotionals. I have found journaling keeps me focused on Him and on the blessings of my life. I'm thankful your results were negative for any further problems and thankful that you found joy in every situation. May you be blessed today as you go about your day!
