I have thought so much today about when I was undergoing my trials how I found it difficult to let them go. Letting go and letting God! This was so difficult as I would constantly reclaim them! My faith was challenged again and again. I am sure many of you will know this feeling so well? I would feel a peace and later start to get anxious all over again! A bible verse comes to my mind as I write this.....
Philippians 4 :6-7 states......."Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
I would like to share with you an inspirational poem called "Broken Dreams." I have this as a cross stitch pattern and the author is unknown. The reason I would like to share this is that it related to how I felt when I was heavy laden. I am sure many of us will also relate to this poem..................
As children bring
their broken toys
with tears for us to mend
I brought my broken dreams
To God
Because He was my friend,
But then instead
of leaving Him
in peace to work alone
I hung around
and tried to help
with ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back
and said
"How can you be so slow"
"My child He said
what could I do?
You never did let go."
Your blog is lovely Linda.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think all of us have problems sometimes with letting GO. It is definitely a sign of maturity when we can.

ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Another wonderful post from you today! You have done very well getting into blogging - I am proud of you.
ReplyDeleteLetting go is difficult, but so necessary for our faith to grow. I read something yesterday that stuck in my mind (heart)..."Faith is holding out your hand"...& we must do just that. Hold them out to accept whatever the Lord puts into them, & hold them out to let go. Love you Linda! You are a blesings in my life. Hugs

ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I am a friend of Judys! I found your post spot on! I can't tell you how many TIMES I would I would lay my burden at Jesus' feet and telling him I do not know what to pray anymore only to pick that burden right back up and start praying for the very thing I laid at his feet. UGH! The poem touched me and I'm going to copy that and put it up in my hosue where I can read it over and over. Amen and AMEN for God's the continued grace He has for us.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
