Quotes That Have Meant So Much To Me

Today has been a busy day and I had to be up early and on my way to Reading in Berkshire. I had an appointment there this morning. The appointment had caused me some anxiety and had formed part of this "dark cloud" that had hovered over months. So this is now behind me and I have to wait!

So for today I wanted to share some quotes that I like and which have meant  a lot to me. I love these little pearls of wisdom! I hope you enjoy them.

"Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of it's sorrows, but only empties tomorrow of it's strength."
                                       Charles Spurgeon

How true I have found this quote to be! Anxiety is a big robber of joy and it gets you nowhere except exhausted!!

"Trials teach us what we are: they dig up the soil, and let us see what we are made of."
                                      Charles Spurgeon

I have found this to be oh so true too!!

"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
                                       Martin Luther King Jnr

""Faith activates God-fear activates the enemy.
                                       Joel Osteen

Another quote I  really like and can identify with!

"More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of."
                                        Alfred Lord Tennyson

"Seven days without prayer makes one weak."
                                        Allen Varlett

"Every great moment of God can be traced to a kneeling figure."
                                        D L Moody

"God always answers our prayers, but sometimes the answer is no."
                                        Author Unknown

How I love this quote!! This has been so relevant in my life over recent months.

"What we usually pray to God is not that His will be done but that He approves ours."
                                        Helga Bergold Gross

Hmmm-thinking about this one I can say that I have had my own ideas too awaiting approval!! Many of us will relate to this I am sure!

"Be thankful that God's answers are wiser than your answers."
                                        William Culbetson

I am thinking more and more about this and I sure am thankful! I know that right now I do not see the whole picture and it is not clear....But God has a plan and His answers are His plan for me!

"The value of consistent prayer is not that He will hear us but that we will hear Him."
                                         William McGill

And some photos of Bourton-On-The-Water. Beautiful photos of a place in the Cotswolds that is so tranquil and peaceful.

  5. Isn't it wonderful to "meet" new friends from around the world! Thanks for visiting me :-) Some of these quotes are my favorites as well and the pictures are lovely. I almost feel like I was there with you! There is a season for everything...just as we know Spring will return after Winter, so too will our own seasons change from barren to sunshine as we trust our Lord and Savior to see us through!

    God bless you,
    Debbie

  6. "Every great moment of God can be traced to a kneeling figure."

I need to kneel more and expect those moments to come!

Thanks for visiting the blog; it's nice to meet someone across an ocean. Even though our temporal "views" may yield different perspective, our kingdom view is the same. Thankful for the Father who connects our hearts.
