Worry and Anxiety

On my mind today thoughts about worry and anxiety.

"Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not life more than meat, and the body more than rainment?"
                                                                   Matthew 6:26

What a comforting verse this is!

The Lords tells us and cautions us against worry and anxiety. His command is not to worry or to be anxious about our present needs or our future prospects. Worry is so unnecessary because we have a Heavenly Father who cares for us.

Why do we worry? It does not stop what is going to happen. It also paralyses our faith which has the power to change all things and situations. Worry also broods over what might not happen and it will create unnecessary despair and make our situation worse.

Worry and anxiety are like dark clouds hovering constantly!! These two bring the pain of yesterday and will borrow the burden of tomorrow added to the concern of today!

Why live like a hopeless orphan without a Heavenly Father, without any promise of divine help and provision?

Have Faith in God. Trust in Him always.

"Come unto me,all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest."
                                        Matthew 11:28

And I would like to share a few quotes:

Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday.

Worry never robs tomorrow of it's sorrow, it only robs today of it's joy.
                                Leo Buscaglia

People gather bundles of sticks to build bridges they never cross.

Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow.
                                Swedish Proverb

Do not be afraid for tomorrow:God is already there.

  1. Thank you so much for your comment on my blog My Tiny Truths. You are so right in that anxiety is such a robber of joy. I also had a friend point out to me that if we worry too much that we need to repent because we are saying to God that we don't trust Him. He knows our hearts and knows our worries. Sometimes it's so hard in the mist of it all to be able to lay everything at His feet. One of my favorite verses that always comforts me is Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you. (Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT) Be blessed!

  4. Good Morning Linda! Another wonderful post filled with reminders that we all need. As humans, we find it so hard to trust 100%, but if we go back over our lives, we will see time & again how very faithful God is.

I see you found my friend Karen too (KrnDrln)...I saw a tag of yours at her blog. She is so sweet!

Love you Linda! Have a beautiful, worry-free day. Hugs

  6. Worry paralyzes our faith - what an accurate statement! So many promises to cling to and that we know to be true from His word and yet when we paralyze our faith, it is hard to even remember one.

Love your photos....certainly wish I was bit more of a photographer! Hope you are enjoying a great week.
