Leaning On The Lord

Today I have been thinking so much about the Lord and my journey over the past year and a half. I believe that today I am to post on this as I had another post in mind. This has weighed heavy and I feel prompted to write on "Leaning on the Lord."

I think so many of us will have been at the place where we have had nowhere to go but to the Lord. That place where we have had to lean totally on Him and depend entirely on His grace. As I sit here and I reflect I am thinking that I really do not know how I would have gotten through these dark, painful and prolonged periods without the the Lord's presence. Oh how He has had a plan for me and how He has shown me He is all I need! He was going to get my attention one way or another!  My journey has been an incredible one of learning, trusting, keeping faith and so much growth!

"But he giveth more grace, wherefore He saith,God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." James 4:6

As the title of my blog states "Days Touched By Grace." My days are truly touched by the Lord's grace and I am thankful.

As I have gone through these valleys and all the pain and all my questions of "why" I have discovered how faithful the Lord is! If He can take me through all of this He can indeed take me through anything! I know that this "too will pass" and I am reminded of a wonderful bible verse:

" To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1

How I love this verse and I have cross stitched projects so many times with this verse.

When we are anxious and feel desperate isn't it a comforting thought, and a wonderful assurance that we can turn to Him! He is always there and we just have to seek Him. When we cannot sleep and toss and turn we can talk to Him! I love this quote that I am going to share:

"When at night you cannot sleep, talk to the Shepherd and stop counting sheep." Author Unknown

When those anxious and fearful dark days come saturate your mind with His word and let His peace wash over you. Let His truths penetrate your mind and your anxiety and fear will go. Through these times of pain, fog and dark clouds I found Him in a way that never would have happened if these trials had not happened! His peace is like no other and I am clinging to Him and His promises. I know I will see the day when all of these trials are but a distant memory.

Two more beautiful bible verses:

"Peace I leave with you,my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."  John 14:27

" God is our refuge and strength,a very present help in trouble."  Psalms 46:1

I would like to share some photos of a college in Oxford taken in March this year:

  4. What a wonderful post. I definitely know how it feels to have a lot of "why" questions (even when there are no answers). God's ways are definitely not our ways.

    Lovely photos too.

    God bless you Linda!

As you know, as your friend, I have hated seeing you have to go through so much, but it has been a blessing to see your faith & your growth through these trials.
